Over 30 years later, the company has grown and continues to grow at an incredible rate with Sandy still actively at the helm. Under her leadership, the company has received several awards including Inc 5000 fastest growing companies in America 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013! Prior to forming the company, Sandy spent the 1970’s honing her executive skills at Sea Pine Plantation on Hilton Head Island, catering to people like golf legend Arnold Palmer and world-champion tennis pro Arthur Ashe. She spent the latter part of the decade as a tour guide to Mrs. Beech at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, KS. Sandy was responsible for escorting high profile customers around the facility and giving them their first tour of their personal airplanes. Bruce Jenner and Christopher Reeve were just a couple of customers Sandy had the privilege of hosting. During that same period, Sandy tried her hand at selling Mary Kay cosmetics and quickly realized that she was meant for other adventures!
Dan joined the S and Y team in 1986 and was the company’s first hired employee. He has seen many changes and worn many different hats over his 29 years with the company. Dan has a wealth of experience in all facets of electronic assembly. Today, he is heavily involved with design projects, reviewing new customer opportunities, evaluating building expansion, and new equipment procurement.
John has been with S and Y Industries for 16 years and has played a key role in its dramatic growth. Customers and employees quickly warm up to his dynamic and fun personality. Prior to John’s time with S and Y, he was Vice President of CM & Associates, managing over 100 sales reps. He grew the company through innovative business concepts that generated over $6MM in new revenue. In the mid-90s, John joined the JPATs division of Raytheon Aircraft in Wichita, KS. He honed his contract negotiating skills while working with the DOD on Navy and Air Force projects.
